Why become a sponsor?
To support the SHPE mission.
Supporting our chapter directly supports the SHPE mission. Throughout the year, we organize activities and events in order to help our students excel academically and professionally. Such events include the National Convention, Regional Convention, general body meetings, outreach activities, study halls, and much more. You can find SHPE Mizzou members at conferences and networking events across the country. Our impact extends beyond our own chapter via our outreach programs, supporting the Hispanic community in Columbia, MO.
To recruit top engineering students.
The students in our chapter are some of the best in the country. Companies need to hire these students, and these students need to work where they KNOW they will be supported. By becoming a SHPE Mizzou sponsor, you're making a statement: "You are the company that values what they have to offer."

"I remember getting a warm, fuzzy feeling in my stomach the first time my SHPE familia and I took turns swinging at a piñata right outside the engineering building. That was the first of many adventures that would allow me to reconnect with my culture and bond with other engineering students. I was honored to become the president of SHPE my senior year, and although challenging, this experience proved to be invaluable and transformative. The sense of community that’s found within SHPE and its partnerships with other organizations in the college, inspired and continues to inspire me to excel in all aspects of my life, for I know I’m working towards something greater than myself."

"I have been involved with SHPE since the first meeting I attended my freshman year, and immediately felt the support and unity. I would definitely describe it as a big familia; it has been a safe space for me to connect with other students who share similar interests and backgrounds. SHPE has allowed me to network and form connections across the country at the National Convention and the Regional Conference, as well as develop my leadership skills."

Lino Cruz Terrones
Supply Chain & Logistics Engineer

"I became a member of SHPE since I transferred to Mizzou in 2020. I felt represented by other Hispanic/Latinx and people of color. I found a safe space for me and reconnected with my culture. This is a family! After I became part of the executive board last year, I had the opportunity to meet SHPE professionals (who share similar background experiences) at the Regional and National conferences. In addition, I was also happy to see how our familia keeps growing on campus; I've always been willing to support new members to connect with resources to make them academically and professionally successful."

Camila Leiva
Process & Estimating Engineer at Direxa Engineering

"I joined SHPE soon after I transferred to Mizzou. In this organization, I found a great support system and long-lasting friendships. I have also learned more about professional development, more than I could have imagined.
The SHPE community has empowered me to overcome things like imposter syndrome. Through SHPE, I have met people that are outstanding role models and inspire me to reach my full potential."
