SHPE Mizzou Approach
Strategy
SHPE Mizzou is growing as a Mizzou organization. We hope to use key partnerships with organizations in the community and an individualized approach to our members.
Objectives
- Increase student member #s by at least 25%
- Sponsor at least 80% of SHPE Mizzou members to the 2022 National Convention
- Increase avg. GPA for all members by at least .3
Future
After this academic year, our hope is that we will cultivate leadership qualities in our members. We hope our involvement this school year will extend for many more years, creating the STEM leaders the world needs.
Goals
- Increase STEM post-secondary attainment for Mizzou Hispanic students
- Retain more Hispanic students in STEM at Mizzou
- Foster a sense of community
- Cultivate personal and technical competencies in SHPE Mizzou members for industry or grad school

Jazmin Renteria Gonzalez

Hi! My name is Jazmin Renteria Gonzalez, and I am currently a junior at Mizzou studying electrical engineering with a minor in mathematics. I am a Kansas City, Missouri native and I like to cook new recipes, listen to music, travel, weightlift, and explore art galleries in my free time. I am excited to meet all of our new members joining SHPE Mizzou for the 22-23 school year!

Hey! My name is Joaquin Rodriguez. I am currently a sophomore at Mizzou majoring in mechanical engineering. I am from Memphis, TN, and I love listening to music, hanging out with friends and family, and sleeping. I also enjoy watching combat sports, Adult Swim, and comic series.

Jose Roberto Umaña

Hello there, I am Jose Roberto Umaña, a junior majoring in biomedical engineering with a minor in mathematics. I am originally from Honduras, and I spent my summer in the east coast, North Carolina, specifically. I love tropical weather and outdoor activities such as hiking and swimming. In addition, I love to work out, cook, sing, dance, play chess, skate, and binge watch Disney movies.

Hi! My name is Ricardo Perez-Cruz and I am a current junior majoring in industrial engineering. Over the summer I went back home to the Dominican Republic, spent time with family and friends, and watched Breaking Bad. I look forward to meeting all the new SHPE members!
